2008 Week 11 Free NFL Winning Picks: Favre versus Brady
You thought we were dumb didn’t you. Our picks might be terrible but we are having Favre compete with Brady….In an Ass-off! That is right…an Ass off. Here you go.
Brett Favre or Tom Brady Ass supporter. Who will win?
We are basing our pick solely on whose ass is the winner. Since Favre has her legs closed she is the loser. Brady is spread and ready to go, which means the Pats win this game. Alright if you really want some analysis we will give it to you.
NY Jets at New England Patriots (-3.5) - This is a battle for first place. 58% of the money is going on the Jets and this line has moved from Pats -4 to Pats -3.5 so we know the line is true. On paper, Favre versus Matt Cassel seems like an easy proposition from a sentimental standpoint but we think the Pats defense is underrated. The Pats have given up less than 12 points per game in their last 4 and their offense is starting to ball control very well. Here are the ATS numbers:
Jets
- Jets are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
- Jets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game.
- Jets are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
- Jets are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.
Pats
- Patriots are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 11.
- Patriots are 15-4 ATS in their last 19 games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game.
- Patriots are 21-7 ATS in their last 28 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
- Patriots are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in November.
- Patriots are 16-7 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
- Patriots are 36-16-1 ATS in their last 53 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
- Patriots are 35-16-1 ATS in their last 52 vs. AFC East.
Head-to-Head
- Favorite is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings.
- Jets are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 meetings.
We think this will come down to one thing and one thing only….Brett Favre. Will he try and do too much and make mistakes or will he play within himself and limit turnovers? If we know one thing, we know Brett Favre and he is a gunslinger. The Pats D will be able to put pressure on him, sorry Faneca and the boys, but the Pats D has really stepped it up lately. Pressure on Favre means Brett is forced to make quick decisions and quick decisions for him lead to turnovers. We think the Pats can easily win this game and that is where our money is going. Pats win and cover!
Good luck with the game.
