Free Winning NBA Picks: 3/30/09

Greetings folks. We hope you had great weekends with NCAA and NBA action. Our last NBA picks were issued last Friday (3/27/09). We went 4-3 overall and 1-0 with our Game 1 picks. Not at all where we want to be, but we’ll take a winning night anyway we can get it. A short docket tonight only netted us two picks. Here they are:

Game 1. Warriors -5 vs. Grizzlies. We love the young Griz and how their D is starting to shape-up, but the Warriors can score a lot of points. The Warriors take care of the ball much better and can abolsutely bomb it from behind the arc. They have an agressive backcourt on the D side, too. We love them at home in this one. They dominate our system match-up and they win our two keys. We think the Warriors roll to an easy cover.

Game 2. Magic -3 vs. Heat. DWade scares us in this one, but our system says Magic. The Magic win the system match-up and sweep our two keys. The Magic dominate the Heat on the glass, too. DWade probably drops 50 tonight, but we think the Magic cover. Even on the road.

That’s it for tonight. FYI-in the other two games tonight (Bucks-Nets & Knicks-Jazz), there were no system advantages, so we are staying away. The teams stacked-up pretty much the same.

As always, good luck with your picks.

Free Winning NBA Picks: 3/27/2009

We were running cold and the only way to break out of a cold spell is to show hot chicks and great arses. We are sure some of you have seen this video and if so, SHAME ON YOU!!!! This is right up RPJ’s alley and we needed to know about this a long time ago. You will enjoy this.

That just made my day and so did winning our Game 1 last night. Our Game 1s are now 4-4-1 and overall we are 16-23-1. Here are our picks for the night….

Game 1: Celtics -1 vs. Hawks. Father Time rolls into Hotlanta tonight to face a team they may very well see in the playoffs. The Hawks are younger, faster and very determined. However, this is the Celtics and they crush the Hawks in our system match-up. Plus, they win our two keys in big ways. That adds up to our pick of the night. The Celtics are due to snap out of their funk, too. They will win this one.

Game 2. Clippers +11 vs. Spurs. We LOVE making this pick. F the Spurs!!!!! However, you should note that we are not making this pick based on our hatred of their abaility to cover….the Clippers win our systemmatch-up records. So, we are rollin’ with them and laughing as the Spurs will give-up useless layups with seconds left to blow their cover!!!!

Game 3. Nuggets +4 vs. Mavs. Another pick we love because the Mavs are soft as hot butter. The Nuggets win this match-up in our system in a solid way. Their D will keep it close. We love it!!

Game 4. 76ers -4.5 vs. Bobcats. The Sixers are at home, which is key for this match-up. Larry Brown coached teams scare us-especially when they play his former teams. However, our system rules. The Sixers take care of the ball better and have better backcourt D. We’ll give the points at home.

Game 5. Thunder +5 vs. Toronto. We love this pick because if ever there was an Underdog, it would be the Thunder. They are just a terrible team, but so are the Raptors. The Thunder win this match-up in our system….we love that they are the Dog. We love us some points!!!!

Game 6. Grizzlies +3 vs. Kings. System wise, this game is identical to the Thunder-Raptors. We’ll keep taking the points everytime!! Plus, the Griz have some legit, young talent on their team. Mayo is the real deal, and if they can get their act together, they will be pretty good for years to come. The Kings just blow.

Game 7. Cavs -14 vs. T’Wolves. It is finally official…the Cavs are the new Spurs. This team screws us more often than not. They dominate our system, but continue to do the exact opposite of what we predict. We listed this game last just to say thayou should be aware that the Cavs are douchebags. However, we are loyal to our system so we are riding with ‘em. On paper, they should win by 100 points. They just dominate the T’Wolves in every facet of the game. Plus, they are at home on rest. However, buyer beware……

Good luck.

Free Winning NBA Picks: 3/26/2009

Well we followed up three non-losing days with a total shiznit show coming in at 1-5. UGLY!!!! Our game 1 lost so that is now 3-4-1 and our overall record is now a lowly 15-22-1. We might be preaching to the crickets at this point but we know this system works. We had a clip where it won at a 63% clip over 100 games. We are only 38 games in so there are a lot more opportunities to make money and we know a winning streak is right around the corner.

If you want to use your own analysis then please use our matchups tool (click here) and then click on the red NBA word to see tons of great betting tidbits. There is a ton of information available on our website so take full advantage. We do not charge for this info either.

Our picks for tonight are…..

Game 1. Lakers -9 vs. Pistons. The Lakers dominate this match-up in our system, and they are system winner that has been hot over the past week. The also win a key, specific match-up in our breakdown analysis. Such teams are undefeated in our system when the stars allign like that (althought there haven’t been many opportunities. We love the Lakers and glady give the points on the road.

Game 2. Suns +6.5 vs. Blazers. We are rollin’ with another road team, but this time we are getting the points. The back-to-back scares us a little, but the Suns (surprisingly) dominate this match-up in our system. Also, they win the key specifics in our breakdown. This game does not allign like the Lakers, but it is still a solid pick for us. We are rollin’ with it.

As always, good luck.

We only came in at 2-2 last night. We did win our Game 1 pick. Game 1 picks are now 3-3-1. Game 1s are games that we think have the highest likelihood of winning on that night. We are only betting one unit across the board but we think Game 1s are our “best bet” of the night. Some food for thought:

1) We are on Facebook and all of our best pictures are on Facebook. Find us under a group search for RPJ Betting Syndicate.

2) If you ever have any questions feel free to email us at rpjsyndicate@gmail.com. We are here for our readers and will be happy to chat or discuss picks or debate whether or not to add arses back to the website.

3) We are an affiliate of Bodog and we know Bodog has been paying out U.S. customers. Sportsbook.com has not been paying out U.S. customers so beware. You can also get a 10% cash sign up bonus for joining. Just click on one of the ads on our website or follow the link below….

On with the picks…..

Game 1. Knicks -6 vs. Clippers. The Clippers are just plain terrible. They play no D. That is bad news for them on the road against one of the best scoring teams in the NBA. We love the Knicks. They dominate this match-up in our system. We gladly give the points.

Game 2. Hawks -6.5 vs. Spurs. Thankfully we get to go against the Spurs in this one. We despise them beyond belief, and it is great that our system tells us to take the Hawks. We love the Hawks at home, and the oldass Spurs on back-to-back games is delightful. F them. We are giving them all the points they want.

Game 3. Magic -4.5 vs. Celtics. The Celtics dominate the Magic in the stat calumns, but this is not the same Celtics team. Father Time is playing one of the forward spots for them pretty much any given night. The Magic are on fire. The key for this match-up is home court. We love giving the points.

Game 4. Cavs -12.5 vs. Nets. The Cavs are slowly becoming the new Spurs for us-they seldom seem to cover for us. However, they dominate our system in the match-up. It wouldn’t matter if they were home or on the road. So, we are riding them again.

Game 5. Hornets -4.5 vs. Nuggets. This line scares us because the Hornets are not that good and the Nuggets are playing well. However, we are staying loyal to our system and will ride with it.

Game 6. Mavs -9.5 vs. Warriors. This line scares us, too. Espeically since the Mavs are soft as any team in the league. However, so are the Warriors. Eventhough they can score, the Warriors play no D at all. The Mavs are rested, at home and they win our system match-up. We’ll take ‘em.

As always, good luck.

2009 March Madness Free Sweet 16 Picks and Predictions: Flash Flash style

My NCAA bracket came out a little below what I was expecting. I was 23-9 in the first round games and only 10-6 in the second round games. This added up to a winning percentage of 69% and the model was supposed to return winners at a 74% clip. If you followed me you probably still have a great chance to win your office pool though because I still have every elite 8 team left. Based on the games that were played and the new matchups I applied my picking system to the 16 teams that remain and low and behold…the whole bracket is turned upside down now. Here is what my math system predicts now…..

Most likely to win their next game….Louisville, Pitt and UNC - This comes as no surprise.

Favored teams most likely to scrape by in a close one to advance….UCONN and Duke - Do not be surprised if Purdue keeps the UCONN game close. These teams matchup really tightly. Purdue is hot and sneaking under the radar. The Duke Nova game should be one for the ages and my system has Duke sneaking out a hard fought, close win.

Who wins the pick em game….Syracuse - This should be another close game but the edge now goes to Cuse. Cuse is playing really well right now and I like their effort.

Upsets in the round of 16…Kansas and Missouri - Yup you heard it hear first. Missouri is going to upset Memphis. Not sure Kansas is much of an upset but they are not favored.

Teams that will play in the Final 4….Kansas, Missouri, Pitt and UNC - I absolutely hate this Final 4 but this is what the math told me. If you remember from my first post of the tourney, I removed all bias from my picks and simply picked on a mathematical model I developed that picked winners at a 74.4% rate. As much as this Final 4 looks retarded, this is what I am posting.

Enjoy the games and good luck with your picks.

Four games on the docket tonight. We are picking all four. Here you go:

Game 1: Lakers -7.5 vs. Thunder. The Lakers are hot and just dominate this match-up. This is a no-brainer for us. We are giving the points.

Game 2: Bulls -5.5 vs. Pistons. The Bulls looked solid last night. They stay at home for the second of back-to-back games. Generally, these teams always play each tough, and this is a lot of points to give. However, the Bulls are more hunrgy than the Pistons right now, and way more healthy. The Bulls are better on O and should be able to score points on this D. They win our crucial system points, and we love them at home. We are giving the points.

Game 3: Rockets +5.5 vs. Jazz. This is a very tough road game for the Rockets, but they are on fire right now. Their D is sick and Artest will be all over the place. Yao is playing like a MVP (even with the worse chest-bumping skills in all of sports). They are hungry to move-up the West playoff rankings. This is their time and they know it. They have rallied around one another since T-Mac’s injury. We love the points.

Game 4: Spurs -8.5 vs. Warriors. We hate the points (and Spurs) in this game, but home is key in this match-up. Our numbers scream take the Spurs. So, that is what we are doing (even if reluctantly).

As always, good luck.

Free Winning NBA Picks: 3/23/2009

We finally had a winning night. We were 3-2 on Friday but did lose our Game 1 pick. We are 9-14 on the season and 2-3 in Game 1 picks. Some of you have been asking what our system is and have shared our insights. This “system” has looked terrible so we know why you are questioning it. However, when we were beta testing it we had amazing streaks and runs and had clips where we were winning at 63-70% clips. We are going to stick with this for awhile and you can see that we are honest with you. We do not run some marketing scam where we say we are always 5-0 or picking winniner 95% of the time. We are here to make ourselves money and to help you make money. The system will turn. Our picks for tonight are:

Game 1: Hawks -12 vs. T’Wolves. Hawks are at home and we love them in this match-up. The T’Wolves are terrible and do not take care of the ball. The Hawks d, and they are much better at this han the T’Woles. Plus, the Hawks can rip the ball and do well with steals. Their D should smother the T’Wolves. We are giving the points.

Game 2: Heat -9.5 vs. Grizzlies. This scares us a little with the Heat playing consecutive games, but we love them at home. DWade is an animal and he should have no problem getting good looks against this Memphis team. We’ll take the Heat.

Game 3: Celtics -15 vs. Clippers. The Celtics dominate the Clippers in every stat in our system. This is a no brainer fo us. A lot of points, but KG is back and the Celtics are at home.

Game 4: Sixers +8 vs. Blazers. We love the Sixers on the road in this one. They play great, energetic D and they can clean the glass with anyone. They will probably not win, but they will keep it close. Take the points.

Game 5: Knicks +6 vs. Magic. The Magic have been great as of late, but we like the Knicks at home. The Knicks can smell the playoffs and they can score. The Magic should win, but the Knicks will be able to score enough to keep it within 6.

As always, good luck.

Well this system sure fell apart. Glad we got to ride it for more than 100 games. We are gonna plod along and see if we can not right this ship. We are 2-2 in Game 1s and 6-12 on the season. Our picks for the night are:

Game 1: Knicks -9.5 vs. the Kings. Being at home is key in this pick. We think the Knicks roll. They can score some points and the Garden can be tough for Westside teams. Take that and the fact that the Knicks just protect the ball so much better than the Kings do.  We are taking the Knicks and giving the points.

Game 2: Pistons -7 vs. the Clippers. We love us some Detroit Rock City, and so do the Pistons. They are not as good as they have been in recent years, but they are a veteran team that protects the ball, plays good D and rebounds decently. This is no place for a Clippers team that does none of those things well. Like the Knicks game above, home is key in this pick. We are taking the Pistons and giving the points.

Game 3: Thunder +5 vs. Jazz. That’s right…we are rollin’ with the Thunder. They are not from Down Under, but we’ll take OKC. In our system, these teams match-up pretty closely (despite their records). We love the points.

Game 4: Rockets -11 vs. T’Wolves. The Rockets play sick D and they are at home. They will dominate this game. The T’Wolves will have no answer for the Rockets D and their hustle. We are gladly giving these points.

Game 5: Warriors +1.5 vs. Sixers. Home is key for this pick, too. Also, the Warriors have a solid advantage against the Sixers in our system, and we love them on the back-to-back. They can put-up points with the best of them. We’ll gladly take more.

As always, good luck.

Rough day yesterday. Our game #1 picks are 2-1 and our overall record since we launched publically is 6-10. Very shiznitty. We will recover and rebound strong. Mark our words on it. Here are our picks for today:

Game 1: Cavs -10 @ home against the Blazers. This is a lot of points to give against the Blazers, but our system strongly picks the Cavs. We are rollin’ with it. We love the Cavs D, too.

Game 2: Lakers -13 at home against the Warriors. Again, this is a lot of points to give the Warriors. Warriors are a top 2 offensive team. However, they play no D whatsoever. Our system says Lakers, too.

Good luck.

2009 March Madness Free Picks and Predictions

Well Bodog dropped the ball on holding a free tournament for us so we are pretty pissed but we are here to lay out who we think is going to win the big dance and to highlight all of our upset picks so we can help you make some money in your friend and office bracket competitions.

Flash Flash’s NCAA system

Some of you have figured it out by now but I am the math nerd in this group. I try to eliminate emotion and bias from all of my picks and this is what I set out to do when picking my winners for this year’s NCAA tourney. Funny how I barely added any insight to what Accuscore (the super math nerds) predicted in today’s Wall Street Journal. Accuscore predicted Kansas as the most likely top seed to lose and I agree and they predicted PITT as their national champ. I agree there too. To come up with my system, I ran a regression on every single NCAA D-1 hoops game played this year and found 6 stats that predict winners at a 74.4% rate. These are straight winners, not ATS winners. So the upsets below and my Final 4 and Champ picks are simply applying the findings of my regression against each matchup. Should be fun to see how it all comes out.

Upset Picks for Round 1

Maryland over Cal (My favorite pick if you are in a knockout pool)

Western Kentucky over Illinois

Arizona over Utah

North Dakota State over Kansas

Wisconsin over Florida State

Portland State over Xavier

Temple over Arizona State

Upset Picks for Round 2

North Dakota State over West Virginia

Marquette over Missouri

UCLA over Villanova

Final 4 Prediction

Louisville versus UCONN with UCONN winning

Pitt versus UNC with Pitt winning

Champion = Pitt

Runny’s Picks

I’m rollin’ with Flash for a lot of the same picks for winners, but for different reasons. I’m throwin’ in my covers, too. Here are my picks:

Day 1 Locks

LSU -1.5 vs. Butler

Memphis -20 vs. Cal St.

A&M +3 vs. BYU

N. Iowa +7.5 vs. Purdue (One of the most overrated teams from on overrated conference).

Radford +25 vs. UNC (UNC is taking this game too lightly)

Cal -2 vs. MD

UConn -20.5 vs. UTenn-Chatt

Wasington -6.5 vs. Miss State (This team is getting way too much hype)

Clemson -5.5 vs. Michigan

Minnesota +4 vs. TX

Nova -16.5 vs. American

Gonzaga -12.5 vs Akron

Oklahoma -16.5 vs. Morgan State

Binghamton +22 vs. Duke (Cinderella won’t win, unfortunately, but they will keep it close. Coach K will call off the dogs)

UCLA -8 vs. VCU

SUPER LOCK of DAY ONE: WKU +5 vs. ILL (ILL should not even be here. Their best player is hurt. WKU wins outright. Take the points for sure).

FINAL 4: Michigan State, Memphis, ‘Cuse & Pitt

Finals: Pitt & Memphis

Champ: Pitt

Final Score: 78-73

As always, good luck…let the Madness begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
